    Linksys USB wifi connection problem

I know this has been asked many times, but I still can't get answer for my case. I am using a Linksys USB wireless G adapter, it looks like working properly and got an IP address from hotspot, but I couldn't connect to the internet I can't even ping. I heard that the default driver is not correct, but how come I can see the hotspot and get an IP address ?
Do you Yahoo ? No I hiccup only :P

When you say you can not ping request are you try pinging the linksys router first. The ip address you have may be the local ip address. You may not be puling a DHCP release from the router. Many times Linksys routers need to be rebooted when connect to the internet in order to give the DHCP request. Working for an ISP we see many problems with personal routers being used. Just make sure that you can ping the router. Then try to ping say www.cheese.com. if you can not and get an error saying that it can not resolve the www then you are not getting a DHCP release from the router.

Good luck. Linksys routers can be really tricky and when coupled to a Linux machine can be down right hard to figure out.
