No ideas anyone? The writer is a Samsung WriteMaster SH-S202J.

I am having the same problems with cd/dvd buring. No data / iso burns with k3b.

I installed the nero demo and it works fine. At least until k3b / wodim gets sorted.

sorry I can't be of more help.

          Bummer -- that's not a good one.

Brasero is a pretty good burning app too, but I fear we already know what we're going to see ....

I'll test a different DVD writer tonight and see if it's the writer or the system...

              Re: Problem burning DVDs

OK, I kinda solved the problem: the new writer (Samsung SH-S202J) works fine in my girlfriend's computer, and her writer (also a Samsung, but the older SH-W162C) works fine in mine, so we simply swapped the DVD writers and are happy now
