    Envy fail to unpack nvidia-glx-new

I use "envyng -t" to install Nvidia driver. My graphic card is Geforce 6200 LE. When unpacking nvidia-glx-new, it produces error :

Re: Envy fail to unpack nvidia-glx-new

I'm not sure how literally to take what you have written -- I'm sure you quoted the screen output correctly, but ....

The command at the console is sudo envyng -t as per the faqs here:

    http://www.albertomilone.com/envyngfaq.html#A

and Envy should not be unpacking nvidia-glx-new, it should be removing it, AFAIK, prior to installing the Nvidia proprietary driver.

Try it again with sudo, and let's see what you get. But, before you run the command, get entirely out of the GUI desktop and shut down the X server by doing Ctrl-Alt-F1, and then issue:

    Code:
    sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
    and then

    Code:
    sudo envyng -t

Re: Envy fail to unpack nvidia-glx-new

hm I did type "sudo envyng -t". I just

Later I renamed the /usr/lib/nvidia to /usr/lib/nvidia_backup. It works
      But.....

Now I can't go into GUI. It said I don't have gtk-dialog or something like that and dump me into terminal. I ever read a thread in this forum about step by step to solve this problem. But I couldn't find it. Can somebody give me the link?? Thank you
