Thinkpad r-40 with agere intel ac'97 modem/soundcard. This card is detected through lspci -v, and lsmod shows snd and related modules installed. Using "dpkg -i *.deb" to install, it hangs after creating files. The last message is something like "this will not create /" then hangs. In one instance, it told me to manually do "dpkg --configure -a". Doing apt-get and package handler in kde comes up with the same result. Is there a way to force completion of the configuration process?
