No sound on my Dell Inspiron 1525. Kubuntu 8.04 .Probleme drivers ?

Hi Guys !

I have a problem when I installed Kubuntu 8.04 (from scratch, not updated) on my Dell 1525.

There's no sound at all. I've checked the muted controls with aumix and alsa-mix, and all seems ok.

I have checked my sound card is recognized by the system, and all seems ok as well.

The sound card works properly, because I tested it with Ubuntu 7.10.

My sound card is displayed by the BIOS as Sigmatel 9205....

I don't know if this card has a problem with the drivers

Could you please help with this problem ? I don't know what to do ...

Even with a clean install, you're still likely to have some of the same problems as an upgrade. See the Dell Wiki page about these bugs:
