Did a fresh install of Hardy KDE4 on my T43p Thinkpad two days ago.
Sound was working perfectly. Decided that I wanted sound to come out of my USB headset instead of sound card and went to System Stettings -> Sound. Saw that the headset was available and moved it as my first choice for sound in Music, Video, communication, Games.
Rebooted the computer and on bootup received an error message stating that the headset could not be used and that the sound system would revert to the sound card.
Then in System Stettings -> Sound, I clicked on Defaults and then Apply and rebooted the computer.
Now I have no sound at all.
I booted into Windows XP and the sound card functioned normally.
Any suggestions on how to debug this?
