Recompiled ALSA - no sound still

OK, so I have a sound card that is supported by ALSA, so I recompiled ALSA with the card support...but it still doesn't work...

    If I goto /dev/snd, I only get /seq and /timer.

No idea what to do next. It is an Echo Mia soundcard...has anyone worked with ALSA in the past...

Re: Recompiled ALSA - no sound still

    Hi, I have a notebook Toshiba p100-126.
With ubuntu/kubuntu past releases there were big problems with alsa / acpi so my souncard didn't work at all or required to modify dtst.

now I've tried kububntu 8.04 and kububntu 8.04(remixed). With the first one audio works fine, with the second one audio doesn't work at all.

    Actually I've a fresh kubuntu8.04 installation with alsa-driver (1.0.16-0ubuntu4).
