    kde4 display settings

I need to change my display setting as my external monitor is not displayed properly by kde4.

When I go to System Settings - Display, I can make changes, but not apply them.

    Is this just me?

I can apply resolution change, can't tell about other options, they are greyed out

I can play with every setting on the page, but all the bottom buttons "Help - Defaults - Reset & Apply" are all greyed out.

Back in Alpha 2 or 3 there was a problem with this having to do with permissions. There was a work around by editing how Display Settings is launched.. something about doing it with sudo and the root password.

You could try editing the kmenu item and having it run as root.

Are you running off an older alpha install?

I'll give that a try soon.

Well, Yes and No. I installed from the Alpha-3 CD, but have been updating regurlary. Is this not enough? Should I download a fresh install?
