i have kubuntu 7.10 Desktop. i want to make it Server without Reinstall the System & i want to use the KDE GUI . i need some Docs on how to make it Server and Deffrence between types of Server i read About Lamp & Lemp & Other types what is deffrence? i want it as enterprise Server

the only real difference between a desktop and a server is the kernel.
the server variant of the kernel is tuned a little different.

LEMP stands for Linux - EngineX - Mysql - PHP.
LAMP stands for Linux - Apache - Mysql - PHP.
there are other pre-packaged server installations.
the difference between them is what software gets installed.

"enterprise server" doesn't actually mean anything.
or nothing useful, anyway.
it doesn't mean "what services" it provides.
it simply means "a server for a large organization".

so...
to make your desktop into a server you need to install the server kernel.
then install the services you want your server to run (e.g. mail, web, db, ... whatever).
and possibly remove desktop applications you don't want/need.

look i was Windows user what i mean with enterprise that like windows server enterprise which is differ from Web Edition Standard Edition Enterprise Edition Datacenter Edition Windows Compute Cluster Server
Windows Storage Server Windows Home Server. all Services are available and u have to manage it. if u want to to make it as dns u could dhcp domain server . did u get my idea? i think lamp , lemp used for web server which is not my point im interested in filee servers , mail server, home , database servers,

You already have samba as a file server between windows and linux machines.

findin thats helpfull for the begining i'll make some labs on this. but what do u think is the better i install the server edition then the kde. or as i have Desktop i could install the server kernel and then the other software i needs?? i think installing kernel will be nightmaer i didnt try it before. or what is ur opiniun??

I would suggest installing the latest server edition. It is LTS afaik. It will be cleaner and easier.
You can always put kubuntu-desktop on there later with:
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop.

Fintin I think the last link which is ubuntu community shows the types of Servers that u could make. and the Applicatins you need for each Server. i think i Give good idea for how to build a server as what you need and thats what i was looking for thanks man
