    Error loading 'kio_audiocd'

    Hi all,

    I am about to give up. An update has changed something somewhere in the configuration of my 64 bit Gutsy Kubuntu system. Using KAudioCreator used to work quite well to encode songs. Now I get the error message:

    kaudiocreator: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Unable to create io-slave:
    klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_audiocd'.

    This is also the message when the program is started from the command line.

    Tried to search here for something relevant but could not find anything. On Google it said I need to make sure that I have correct dependencies installed (they are) and have he correct rights, I must have had before!

    Symbolic links are:

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-02 18:14 cdrom -> scd1
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-02 18:14 cdrom1 -> scd0

    and

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-02 18:14 dvd -> scd1
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-02 18:14 dvd1 -> scd0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-02 18:14 dvdrw -> scd1

    relevant part of fstab:

    /dev/scd0 /dev/cdrom0 auto user,atime,auto,rw,dev,exec,suid 0 0
    /dev/scd1 /dev/cdrom1 auto user,atime,auto,rw,dev,exec,suid 0 0

    KAudioCreator detects the cdrom drive on:

    /dev/scd0 or/and
    /dev/cdrom1

    I get the error on both. I also get this error when I try to scan the media in Konqueror. I am at wits end and would welcome any proposals suggestions on what I can try next.

    l8r
