I would like to know if there is a program to schedule a time to download and install the update packages (the ones that are displayed in icon on taskbar). I have a satelite internet system and they have this not so "fair access policy" which limits the amount you are allowed to download per day. They do, however, have a Unlimited period between the hours of 3am and 6am. I am fairly new to linux so if it involves command line usage then clear directions would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: How to schedule adept package updates
Maybe this helps:
Debian Administration / Keeping unstable machines up to date easily

- How to download upgradable packages with a cron script. Installing will be done later.
- Example uses cron.daily.
You could:
- drop that scrip to the /usr/bin.
- make script executable, Dolphin/Konqueror: right click script > Persissions > is executable.
- press Alt + F2 and type kdesudo kcron (KCron Handbook: in the konqueror help:/kcron).
- set date/time when you want to download upgradable packages.
