I've got a large file (4 GB or so) that I'm trying to copy from my home folder to a different partition. Every time it gets about 90% done, I get an error message that says "the process for the file protocol died unexpectedly."
I've Googled extensively, and see other people get the same message in a variety of circumstances, but can't find any solutions.
I just want to copy a friggin' file. What the hey, man?
Any help gratefully accepted.
EDIT: I just tried copying it via the command line instead, and got an error message that says, "File size limit exceeded (core dumped)." So I still can't copy it, but at least that's more helpful. Is there a way to up the file size limit or something?
SECOND EDIT: More Googling shows that this is because I'm copying to a Fat32 file system, and that has a 4GB file size limit.
Dang.
