Kubuntu update/Adept Updater serious problem...

    Kubuntu update/Adept Updater serious problem...

    OK. I see no one helps me at the "Help the New Guy" forum..
    So I hope someone will help me here.

    I installed Kubuntu(Gutsy 7.10) and everything is fine,
    except the Adept Updater..
    When I press Fetch Updates in Adept,
    it hangs at "Waiting for headers (0%)"
    Please help me to resolve this problem.

    I think the the contents of my sources.list may be useful so here they are:

    Open up a terminal:
    kmenu->system->terminal and type the following:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudp apt-get upgrade
    what does the last tell you?
    HP Pavilion dv6 core i7 (Main)
    4 GB Ram
    Kubuntu 18.10

      It hangs on first command:

      Oh, and also i see a Adept notifier that tells me about 60 updates..

          is your internet connection good? The "connection failed" part seems to point in this direction...

            Yeah connection is good, i downloaded skype at 120 mb/ps..

            Edit: I have a router and a switch, I'll try to restart them both.

                try downloading from a different source.

                first, fire up adept manager
                Kmenu->System->Adept manager
                Select the repositories
                Adept->Manage repositories

                there's a box saying "download from" try selecting a different server.

                  Yes,

                  skizo is right, there's probably a problem with the server you are downloading from, because I updated my Kubuntu today without problems.

                      Try gb.ubuntu.com (uk servers)

                      Can your browser point to

                      http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ (it works here)

                      or you could change the http requests to ftp.

                      I do note that packages.ubuntu.com is down

                        Problem Solved
                        I set the download server to archive.ubuntu.com
                        and everything worked fine
