Hi

I'm not much of a gamer but decided I should try out a few games in the repo's.
Not much luck I'm afraid. I tried Sauerbraten and Warzone2100 and both will brake X and send me back to the X logon screen. The odd thing is that I can play Sauerbraten from a Sabayonlinux live cd. My box is a AMD 2600+, 1Gb ram and a ATI 9250 256kb videocard. I run the card with the ati free driver and reasonable 3D speed. ( ca 2200 fps in glxgears). Any suggestions?

Hmm...

Can you post your xorg.conf file?

To see if we can get some errors from the games try running (e.g.) "warzone2100 > ~/warzone.log" (without the quotes) - this will create a log file that you can read & post here when you log back in after the crash.

Here is my xorg.conf, the warzone.log was empty.
I have copied the xorg.conf from a live cd installation of pclinux, Kubuntu could not identify my screen.
