My updates icon came on today and I noticed it wants to remove 140 including Adept it appears, 1026 upgrades and install 137. This doesn't seem right. For one..I don't want Adept removed. Can Adept be wrong??

Re: Adept updates wants to remove important software
There doesn't seem to be a newer version of Adept to be installed. A few days ago I did upgrade to KDE 3.5.9.Oneiric 11.10 KDE Version 4.7.4
Duo core 1.8 Intel
4 gig ram
Nvidia Go 7300 Graphics
Dell E1505 Laptop

I'm a happy pappy with Linux on my lappy!!!

Re: Adept updates wants to remove important software
I would say review your apt-get commands, in conjunction with "update" and "upgrade":
http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3092232.0
Probably you want to try (in the Konsole)Code:sudo apt-get upgrade --simulate
Another thing I have found is that, when there is an occasional "oops" in release of packages to the repositories, it is normally fixed within 24 hours. So, when you see something that you suspect is not right, just wait until tomorrow before you do anything with it. By then, it should be correct.

Re: Adept updates wants to remove important software
I think I should wait. Some of the remove software seems right because there is a new install of them but I know some are wrong. Re: Adept updates wants to remove important software
I think I found the problem. In my Adept Repositories there was an entry...... Debian 'Sid' (unstable) Officially supported. I took and unmarked the x and everything in update went away. Boy when I think of what might have happened if I updated before I looked at it, which is what I usually do, scary to say the least. Thanks again for all you help.
