    kde4 plasma

When I try to log into kde4, everything starts loading as it should, and then the crash window comes up and says that Plasma and plasma workstation have crashed and then KDE4 quits doing anything. Is this a known bug and what can be done about it? I've tried removing kde4-core but that didn't do anything.

    Thanks for your help!

If I do a backtrace in the crash window, this is what comes up:

    Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1".
    [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]

      Re: kde4 plasma

I had a plasma crash a few days ago (segfault), but it was apparently fixed with updates, because it has been fine for 3 or 4 days now. I have not heard of a bug like your crash.

I don't know anything to recommend except to open Adept Manager, and right-click on the kde4, kde4-core, and kde4libs-bin packages, and select "reinstall" and see if that, plus updating, will make any difference.

I just did a bunch of updates and all is OK for my KDE4 install.
