I'm relatively new to Linux. I use an e-mail program called The Bat, and I'm having trouble getting it to work in wine. The installer ends in .msi so I went into the console and did msiexec /i programname.msi and it did install. But every time I start it up it thinks it's the first start up and asks me to import e-mails, etc. I tried to repair it (no luck) and then tried to uninstall and reinstall, but I think it's still got pieces in the "registery" (or whatever you call that in Kubuntu). Is anyone else using The Bat?

Re: The Bat in Wine
If you right-click the .msi, and choose -> Open with -> Wine Windows Emulator ought to install it....
The newer versions of Wine do seem to have some problems.
If you managed to install it once, there will be entries in the registry which need to be hacked out, by un-installing it with Wine, and maybe complete removal with a program such as RegEdit.
