I thought I would have a play with compiz and emerald.
Nice eye-candy with some seemingly useful features.
However, when I switch to compiz and emerald I have some strange problems.
Firstly, the cube does not work.
I have tried setting the number of desktops both in system and compiz as described in other posts, but this does not make any difference.
The horizontal flip does work though.
Second, many of my apps lose their title bar which is a much bigger pita than I would have thought, no min/max/close.
I have turned off the legacy support workaround which at least stopped them going full screen.
Third, using alt+tab works fine but some amazing screen flashing at the same time, like it was trying to be a strobe light.
System;
Kubuntu 7.10
Athlon XP4800 dual core
Asus M3A board
G-Skill 2GB DDR3 800mhz RAM
NVidiaEN8500GTSLN-HTD-256 with restricted driver in use
Philips 22¨ @1680x1050
