    shutdown courier mailserver SOLVED

From another post here I got curious about ksystemlog, hanging around here is a great way to learn.

So it seems I have the courier mailserver running when I installed ubuntu (though I can't remember choosing it, it must have come with the LAMP option).
Now I can't use a mailserver so I want to shut it down.

Strange though that when I try 'apt-get remove courier-imap courier-imap-ssl' etc, it says these packages are not installed though according to the log it is quite active.

    Re: shutdown courier mailserver

'sudo courier stop' seems to do the trick, even after a x restart the thing is quit.
