Will Kubuntu 7.10 support programs written for Windows XP?

Haven't had a need for it yet, but Wine supports programs written for WXP. To configure, go to Kmenu -> System Settings -> Advanced tab -> Windows Applications.

YES. But, the harder question is, HOW?

Many, but not all, will run under wine. If so, you get to use the real graphics hardware on your system.

The rest will, AFAIK, run on a VMWare or VirtualBox Win XP virtual machine. If this is required, it will use a "virtual" display and won't support 3D graphics.

Check for your Windows applications at the App DB @ http://www.winehq.org/ . that way you can know exactly what will work under Wine.
