Adept Problem

Sorry for the newbie question, when I run Adept Manager I get:

"Another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude).
Would you like to attempt to resolve this problem? No will enter read-only mode and Cancel to quit and resolve this issue yourself."

What to try first?

i went to the site dibl recommended (i had the exact same prob.) i inserted the first line of code and chose option n when the konsole gave me options. everything is working fine now thanks again dibl
