    Virtualbox on 64 bit

I am trying to install VirtualBox on my 64bit Kubuntu 7.10. I followed the instructions I got from here:

    http://www.ubuntugeek.com/create-and...irtualbox.html

    I get the following error:

    error processing virtualbox_1.5.4-27034_Ubuntu_gutsy_i386.deb (--install):
package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)
    Errors were encountered while processing:

Does anybody know if there is a package for the 64 bit?

EDIT: This is why my status is "always learning". Isn't Adept Manager wonderful !

Looks like you can get it from the virtualbox website:

Best to use the sources.list method here. That way you'll be kept up to date with newer versions.

To see how just scroll a bit down at the downloadpage mentioned in the previous post.

        Re: Virtualbox on 64 bit

I noticed this morning that there is VBox OSE available in the standard menu (already installed) on my HH/KDE4 64-bit setup. I definitely didn't choose to install it -- I use VMWare Player to run my Win XP machine.

I'm using the Vbox 64bit version from their web-site (not OSE). The available package in the respositories for Gutsy did not work for me and I think there maybe a bug.

I queried this failure on the Vbox forum and was advised to do as above. It works great!
