    firefox, youtube.com and sound

Problems with sound on youtube. It wasn't always there but came about 2 weeks ago.

I have sound. I can listen to ubuntube and downloaded files.

How can I listen to (and watch) videos on YouTube.com, as this is a more easy way to find the necessary videos?

And what did ubuntube do to make it work?

    After reading a little here
    http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3090404.0
I looked at the different links. And now it works.
But I would like to use the site as it was intended. How do I set up my system for that?

I did unmute my master channel which was strange - some update must have muted that one.

assuming you installed flashplayer already, then:
kmenu --> system settings --> sound system --> disable sound system
    (maybe arts is blocking flash...)

Try an other browser like opera. Then you will know if it's a browser problem or not.

If you want to use Opera, you should use Opera Beta 9.5, otherwise the new version of flash will not work: http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/next/

        Re: firefox, youtube.com and sound

I just spent a month getting my sound to work, what I've learned

If you have a soundcard make sure onboard sound is turned off in bios.

What finally worked for me after trying every other option is removing soundcard, using onboad sound w/ regular pc speakers.
