    grip loses cdrom

I have an interesting problem with grip, which had been working fine on my system previously.

I am using a compiled 2.6.24.2 kernel and Grip version 3.3.1

Grip finds the cd OK ( using /dev/scd0 )

If I check the little boxes to rip individual tracks it works OK.

However, if I do not check the boxes and the option to "select all tracks" comes up, grip drops the cdrom information ( says no cd in drive) and must be forced to poll the cd again. This erases any information I typed in for tracks that were made via analog recording.

It seems to be associated with the box that states "No tracks selected Rip whole CD?" as you can see the disk information disappear shortly after the dialog box appears. If I click on the icon to rescan the disk and hit rip and encode the second time when the dialog box comes up it does not remove the cd .

previously grip did not work this way..

anyone familiar with this? do you know how to fix it?

    thanks in advance

    joe
