Hi folks,
New to Kubuntu (migrating from openSUSE), recently installed Gutsy and having a couple of issues, any help or advice will be much appreciated.
Basically I'm having problems getting KZenExplorer and KIO Nomad Jukebox working.
On launching KZenExplorer, the splash screen gets as far as "Getting playlists from jukebox", then hangs. Yesterday, launching KZenExplorer from Konsole consistently generated the following output (or very similar):
james@james-desktop:~$ kzenexplorer
james@james-desktop:~$ X Error: BadImplementation (server does not implement operation) 17
Major opcode: 20
Minor opcode: 0
Resource id: 0x19
Xlib: sequence lost (0x118a9 > 0x19c1) in reply type 0x16!
X Error: BadImplementation (server does not implement operation) 17
Major opcode: 20
Minor opcode: 0
Resource id: 0x8298578
Xlib: sequence lost (0x119d7 > 0x1b78) in reply type 0x1!
Today, if I launch it from Konsole, the splash screen comes up and then hangs again, but I get no output in Konsole, and after a while the frozen splash screen disappears, but KZenExplorer still appears on the list of running processes if I do ps -ef.
Secondly, in Konqueror, if I type "njb:/" into the location bar, I can see the top level folder structure (albums, all, artists, etc and playlists), but I can't get into any of these folders - all I get is an error message saying "Could not connect to host Nomad Jukebox"
Oddly, Gnomad2 seems to work absolutely fine.
The versions of the relevant packages which are currently installed on my system are:
kzenexplorer: 0.6-1ubuntu1.
kionjb: 0.1.6-4.
libnjb5: 2.2.5-4.1ubuntu2
I don't have njbtools installed, do I need it?
libmtp6 is also installed, version 0.2.1-0ubuntu3, but I'm not sure whether I need this or not, since my player is on the older firmware (it's a Creative Zen Micro, firmware version 1.11.01). Could there be some kind of conflict between libmtp and libnjb?
Even though Gnomad2 works OK, I'd still prefer to get KZenExplorer and/or KIO Nomad Jukebox working if possible. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Cheers
James.
