Flash error "Express Install is not supported . . . "

I am trying to play on-line games on a site I have just found. Whenever I click on a game to play I get a black box with a grey balloon in it that says

Express Install is not supported by this version of the flash player. to upgrade, please visit: Flash player download centre

I went to the download centre and installed the latest version (9.0 r115) and the problem is still there. I get the same error in Firefox and Opera. I checked that it was installed properly in Firefox by typing aboutlugins and it lists TWO versions installed, 9.0 r46 and 9.0r115
