Is there a way to install a binary file other than Konsole? If not, to which directory do I install the file?

Re: Installing .bin
How to install ANYTHING in Ubuntu!
http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing/
Custom Binary Installer (.bin, ...)
If the installer is called test.bin and is located on the user carl's desktop, you can run it inside your terminal with /home/carl/Desktop/test.bin...
Right click ? Double click ? Installer migh need root rights (sudo) to install ...Before you edit, BACKUP !
Why there are dead links ?

Re: Installing .bin
I found a better explanation at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=485430
However, it seems that I did not install to the proper directory. Hopefully, I will learn where to install this file.

Re: Installing .bin
Hi, I'm sure posting in a topic this old is forbbiden, but anyway.
I tried the method suggested but the terminal prompted me with :
Usage: /home/sam/mapeditor/mapeditor.bin [ -Alib.par ] [ -Idir ] [ -Mmodule ] [ src.par ] [ program.pl ]
/home/sam/mapeditor/mapeditor.bin [ -B|-b ] [-Ooutfile] src.par
What to do? The file is a small program so at a glance I would choose program.pl...
