[SOLVED]no sound in Youtube player unless started as root???

Ok, I've set 32-bit Firefox on AMD64 Gutsy using this howto:
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FirefoxAMD64FlashJava

However, I just have noticed that there is no sound in Flash player on YouTube has no sound (and it's _only_ on YouTube proper, YouTube players embedded in other sites work fine(!)), unless I launch Firefox32 as root.

Since web browser is the last thing that you want to run su'ed, could anyone suggest how to fix that?

looks like I accidentally wrote one sudo too many when setting it up, and flash cache became owned by root, not regular user.

    chown -R <your user> .macromedia

in your home directory fixes it.

Glad to hear that you got to the root of the problem! (Yeah, it was just to good to pass up.)
