I've been using kubuntu since 6.06
The setup I have is my kubuntu machine is a NIS client to solaris NFS/NIS server i.e., my home directory is mounted off from the solaris server
I notice that when I access root directory or network shares under dolphin (or any application for that matter) it takes a few minutes to load. This happens only if I configure the system as nis client. As a standalone desktop, the directories load much faster. Only when I configure the system as nis client and load either root directory or network shares from dolphin, konqueror or "open dialog box" it just takes for ever to load.
I also have opensuse10.3 running on a different machine which does not have this problem. I currently use gusty kubuntu. Any solutions?
