Can't seem to update or install new programs

Just installed v7.10 and got online without a hitch. But when I try updating Adept or using Konsole to update the repositories or download and install a program, I get nothing. Just get "file not found". Is there something I'm missing with this version? Thanks.

    Hi Jacatone,

Have you checked and enabled the repositories?
This can be done by opening adept manager, then from the menu bar:
    Adept>Manage Repositories

It may be wanting the installation CD/DVD. If you have a fast internet connection you might as well remove it from the sources.list (which can be done in Adept Manager I believe). If your internet connection is slow you may prefer to leave it included (especially if it's the DVD), just remember to put it in the drive when installing software.
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 (yes Gnome) with upgrades applied daily about 0900 UK time. Hardware is Dell Precision 420, 2x 800 MHz PIII, 512 MB RDRAM, nVidia GeForce 6800 128 MB AGP graphics, 18GB SCSI and 500GB IDE HDDs, DVD burner, Hauppage TV card.

Yes, I did enable the repositories in Adept/Manage Repositories. I had no problem updating in v7.04. Is there some new feature in v7.10 that also needs to be enabled? Thanks.
