Will upgrading help me?

I am currently using Kubuntu 7.04. I have a wireless USB internet connection that causes me lots of trouble. The settings seem to get changed every few weeks or so, and then I have to figure out what has happened and how to fix it. This is usually not easy for me. My questions are:

1. If I upgrade to Kubuntu 7.10, can it set up this connection automatically?

2. Is the upgrade process seamless? That is, will it take my present setups and go from there, or will it wipe out Kubuntu 7.04?

You have a very strange problem.

So strange that you can't expect a useful answer without more information about what does change every few weeks.
Like are you connecting to a router or modem?
Is it the wireless part that is causing problems or is it the connection to your ISP?
Maybe your neighbours are using the same channels?
Etc, etc.

It's a software problem within Kubuntu 7.04. I'll ultimately find the problem and change it back to its original setting.

This computer is set up as a dual boot system. The Windows XP side connects without a problem.
