Some little minor Fixes on KDE4

Okay, Kde 4.0.1is out and it is REALLY better, flash has started to work again in Konqueror, desk more responsive, programs start to do what they are supposed to do.

I'm testing the desktop everyday and I start to really believe that when 4.1 is out we will be laughing our butts off at the reaction we had in January.

Okay, that said, I have some little issues that I hope you guy could help with:

1) In konqueror get some scrambled fonts sometimes. it is not regular, sometimes I get them, sometimes I do not, picture follows



Antialasing is on but even off it did not correct the issue, has anyone an idea of why it happens?

2) Where is the option in Kopete to switch off the frigging popups that informs you that a message has been sent? I switched off EVERYTHING and they keep on coming it is REALLY annoying.

3)Aside from that, I'm just waiting when I will be able to get rid of the new kicker bar. Does anyone know if there is a way to kill it and switch it with the old KDE kicker?

You can add the old style start menu by clicking the Add Widgets link in the upper right corner of your desktop. Then look for Application Launcher Menu (there are two, one of them is the old style). Just drag that to your taskbar and it should stick. Then you can right-click the newer start menu and remove it from the taskbar.

Yes that for sure helps a little, but my question was actually how to remove the WHOLE taskbar and substitute it with Kicker ( with all the options of setting up more bars)

Any ideas?

Try pidgin, it is in the repos.

As for the rest. Lancher traditional as stated above. If you want to put any other app. on the panel right click on the app in the kde4 kicker and choose add to panel.

I haven't figured that one out yet, and don't want to.
I know it is doable, but ...... I want to grow with this as long as I can

I like plasma and will wait until it is configurable as "old" kde3.5.xxx

Edit:You can always dot this:
alt+F2 or right click on the desktop-<launch application. kicker.
This will put your normal kicker on top of the plasma panel. Now all you have to do is get rid of the panel and make kicker start at log in

Found for Kopete.

You have to go in settings-> configure notifications and uncheck " Popup message" on "Incoming messages"

Now I still have this problem with the fonts on Konqueror. Nobody can help?

Is it that it happens from time to time, or that specific pages will have it and others won't?

It happens randomly on all sites and sometimes only on part of them ( Ie upper part of the page like that , lower page prints out right)
