    /etc/init.d/kdm-kde4: 75: genkdmconf-kde4: not found

So I decided to go with kdm-kde4

    gives me the following error:

    /etc/init.d/kdm-kde4: 75: genkdmconf-kde4: not found

so I tried to go back to kdm:

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure kdm-kde4

    picked kdm

    Then tried to launch kdm:

    sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start

    gives me the following error:

Not starting K Display Manager (kdm); it is not the default display manager.

    What the meow?!!?

So, now I have no kdm and no kdm-kde4. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

FYI: I tried rebooting, and have flipped back and forth between kdm and kdm-kde4 a few times via sudo dpkg-reconfigure kdm-kde4

    Nevermind, I fixed it myself:

    edited /etc/init.d/kdm-kde4:

    replaced: genkdmconf-kde4
    with: /usr/lib/kde4/bin/genkdmconf

    All fixed (maybe)

Haven't checked to see if kdm is still broken, but kdm-kde4 (ugly boring kdm-kde4) works now.

The bug for this is https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/189500

I've uninstalled kde4's KDM for now.

Does anyone know what's going on with the binary naming ? Is it going to stay as 'konqueror' (with a funny $PATH) now, or later revert to 'konqueror-kde4' ?
