    auto updater

Is there a way to turn off the auto updater in Kubuntu.

When the auto updater comes on it screws up Crossover with utorrent running. it conflicts with utorrent and so stops it from working.

So is there a way to turn it off and run it when I want to run it.

    thanks all

That is called "adept_notifier". Although I haven't personally needed to turn it off, I believe you can right-click on the little green notification box, click "quit" and then it should ask you if you want it to run automatically in the future, and you can say "no".

    Or so I read .....

Also, I believe it is listed in your .kde/Autostart folder, so you should be able to delete it from there.
