i'm sure you guys hate these threads.
I need help figuring out why Kmid won't play midi files. Timidity works, Fluidsynth loads just fine.
Kmid doesn't even try to play any Midi files. And it gives this error in the Konsole.
EDIT: Okay, I tried pmidi, and it was complaining that it could not find the port. I specified 128:0, and now pmidi works...
I just tried pmidi on fluidsynth, and the audio quality was less than stellar...
Edit: It turns out that I have to set the sound server to ALSA specifically, instead of "autodetect", in the Control Center. As well as setting the Midi mixer to Fluidsynth, or timidity,...
Final Edit: snd_mpu401 was conflicting with timidity, somehow. Once I unloaded (sudo rmmod snd_mpu401), Kmid now works.
