I've installed 7.10 on Microsoft Virtual PC. System clock is running faster on virtual machine than system clock on physical laptop. I'm a relative newbie to Kubuntu. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?
Probably something is being mis-reported in the software system. In other words, if the BIOS shows the clock speeds correctly, that's far more reliable than the Linux sensor-detectors, in my experience.
My X6800 is overclocked to 3.4GHz. Ksysguard shows each core at 1596MHz.
