    simple text file browser/viewer

This seems almost silly to ask, but is there a good broswer/viewer for text files? I have hundreds of small text files, and would like to be able to quickly click to see the contents, and I can't find anything.

Konqueror does this just fine. Clicking on a text file opens it in Kate.

      Agree with SnowHog...
      I prefer Konqueror than Dolphin.
While the editor, the Kate and Kwrite both are good.

Thanks, but what I would like is to be able to click on a file to view the contents, then click on another and quickly view that one, etc.. I don't want to load each file into an editor, because I will be viewing potentially hundreds of files and I don't want to have to keep closing them.

            Have you tried ?

            Dolphin/Konqueror/Kate

Go to the folder where your textfiles are and: <Ctrl>+ <a>, right click a file, Open With > Kate. Or goto the folder, press F4, konsole pops up: type kate *.txt.

Kate has (in the left border) Documents and Filesystem Browser:

            also <Alt> + <Left> (Back) and <Alt> + <Right> (Forward)

            Before you edit, BACKUP !

ISTR Konqueror can be set up to 'preview' text files (opening them in its own tab) rather than opening them in a separate editor)

If they're short, and you just want to view (not edit) them, use cat at the command line.

You could also use firefox, by typing file:///home/user/directory/ in the address bar. (Note the triple slash after the

I'd go with kate's filesystem browser.
