    Adept - Error commiting changes

I use adept-manager to install packages. Since a few weeks ago I get an error message when I install or remove packages: "there was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was an error downloading some packages, or the commit would break packages".

When I hit OK the message disappears and the package installs and works. Nothing seems to be broken or non-functional. So what is this message about?

How do I get rid of this "error" message?

Re: Adept - Error commiting changes

Adept shows these errors sometimes, even though they're not necessary (i.e. the commit would not break things). Try updating with apt-get (from Konsole, type "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" for updating and "sudo apt-get install if you'd like to install something) or Synaptic (in the repos). Synaptic is a GTK app, but IMO it's far better than KDE's Adept.

Does it do this for some particular package or for every one?

This seems to be a common, albeit benign problem in gusty installs. The solution:
