all of a sudden, I cant log out of kde3

I've been using kde4 since it was released, occasionally logging into kde3 for random reasons without any problems.

This morning I logged into kde3, and now it wont let me log out.

When I choose logout from the start menu, or from right clicking the desktop, nothing happens. I don't get the logout widget or anything. Nothing hangs or crashes.

    Anyone else have this happen?

Does anyone know how to force a logout? I'd rather not do a hard reboot.

    Thanks

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace will kill your X session and offer you the GUI login again. I'd try that first -- you can either log back into KDE3 and see what's going on, or change the session to KDE4 and proceed that way.

Of course to restart your system, you can open Konsole and give it
    Code:
    sudo shutdown now -r
