KDE4 on 7.10, hibernate on logout menu does nothing

Clicking the red logout icon on KDE4's menu bar (I moved the plasma widgit there by dragging it out of the 'add widgit' dialogue), I get the 'turn of computer' entry and hold the left button down on it, then choose 'hibernate'.
    Nothing appears to happen.

All is well in KDE3 and in KDE4 I can press alt-f2 and run "kdesu /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh".

    Odd.

Anyone got any ideas, or at least a log/config file I can look at to see what that menu item does ?

      We'll I'm glad it's not just me.

A bug in the main ubuntu tracker (link on kubuntu web site) ? Or in KDE's ?

How about you take Ubuntu, and I'll take the other.
