kaffeine errors:tried many of the things from forums(fixed(new)

Hello

I can't seem to get playback of avi files or streams on kaffeine. I keep getting the error

"Loading of player part 'XinePart' failed. All video drivers failed to initialize.

Doe's anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Testing Kaffeine

Start kaffeine in the konsole

kaffeine --verbose

--verbose Output xine debug messages

and kaffeine installation check

kaffeine -w

-w, --wizard Run installation wizard

Here it tells:

Ok.

Found version: 3.5.8
Ok.WIN32 Codecs...
Ok.
libdvdcss...
Ok.
DVD Drive...
Ok.
DVB-Device...
No DVB-Devices found. The DVB related functions will be hidden.

RESULT: All ok!

Tried what was stated above, and I got the following error for my dvd.

Can't check DMA mode. Permission denied or no such device: "/dev/dvd".

I read through the link you provided and a few other searches, and can't seem to get any daylight.

after reading many things, I have found that going back to version 0.8.4 takes care of the issue. Everything plays fine.

Just loaded the newest xine-lib 1.1.9.1, and the newest kaffeine 0.8.6, and all works great.

Great. Hopefully those will be in the repos soon as I am still hosed (and not in a good way).
