    Compiz-Fusion...

Need help getting this to work on my Desktop. Works on my laptop fine =( I have an ATI x1950 pro. I have installed fglx drivers and they seem to be working fine. I also have installed the following packages. sudo apt-get install compiz-kde emerald compizconfig-settings-manager and I run compiz using compiz --replace.

I get this following error message when trying to run compiz-fusion:
    Code:
    joe@joe-desktop:~$ compiz --replace
    Checking for Xgl: not present.
    No whitelisted driver found
    aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity
    no /usr/bin/metacity found, exiting
Please folx any help appreciated. Thanks a ton!!

          issue fixed with
          Code:
          sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl
=D Now I'm just missing icon images in compizconfig settings manager. Not a big deal though. If anyone knows would be appreciated.

There is no icon (yet) for the Advanced Desktop Effects Settings. Open Advanced Desktop Effects Settings and check under Categories that the following items are selected:

              General

              Accessibility

              Desktop
              Rotate Cube
              Desktop Cube
              Expo
              Effects
              Animations
              Cube Reflection
              Fading Windows
              Window Decoration

You will probably want to play with some of the various settins within these items, but these are the ones I have active, and my Cube/Desktop does everything I want it to. 8)
