made a mess

I tried hooking up a usb card reader....never got it to appear properly in Disk & Filesystems.
I now have a bunch of folders in my Home folder that I cannot delete.

"access denied"

I'd just like to delete them, I'll work on getting the card read later.
please help,

I think they are owned by root.
