and then be really patient -- it's a big package.

I've installed the restricted driver for my geforce 4200 go through KDE 3.5. Quake3, UT2004... it al works. Now I have KDE 4.0.1 up and running, but when I go to System Settings -> Desktop and click on "Enable desktop effects" I am asked if I want to keep the settings but nothing happens. Everything is still the way it was.

PS: I didn't have any compisiting stuff installed, ever, in this install.
