    KDE 4 does not initialize - kstartupsetup4 fails

    Hi!

    When I try to start kde4 via KDM or Xephyr with this intructions (http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-4.0.php) appears me "Could not start kstartupconfig4. Check your installation".

    I have installed some kde4 before, but I have do a step by step using the page that i name before to remove all old packages.

    What could be the problem?

    When you boot your system, at the login GUI, click the little "list" just to the right of the password window, before you enter your password. Choose "Session Type" and then "KDE 4". Then put in your password and enter to log in to KDE 4.

      same problem here... tried almost everything (and don't know what else to try)...
      too bad...
