Suspend option missing in the log off menu.

Suspend option missing in the log off menu.
I know I am suppose to press and hold the Turn Off button to see options for Suspend or Hibernate but all I see is a small white dot below the Turn Off button when I press and hold the Turn Off button.
Any idea?

I had the same problem but fortunately I solved it.
I see that the post is old but ........
The problem was because the graphical restricted drivers were not installed properly.
Try to unable restricted drivers (graphical driver). if it works fine try to enable restricted ....

I use nvidia and I had to remove xserver-xorg (I don't remember the exactly name but you can see it searching in adept).
