    KDE4 was quietly upgraded

    I already had KDE 4 RC 2, but yesterday, the entire installation was upgraded. There are still some major bugs, but it gets better with each step forward. The new packages were showing as 3.98, but I don't see a release tagged with that number on KDE's ftp site. This looks like a recent SVN. Anyway, I'm more encouraged each day. This is going to be a gorgeous desktop...and without being a resource hog.

    So you're running KDE 4 as your main desktop now?

      About half of the time. Sometimes the gltches get to me and I switch back to KDE 3.5.8. The kicker panel in KDE 4 still doesn't let you do any configuration. And there are some weird problems with sudo functions. But I'm doing my best to get used to it all now.

        With 4.0.0 tagged I'm very interested in trying it. I will wait for it to show up in the repos though.

        So far my attempts at getting the Live CD's to work have all failed.. they sort of boot up but nothing really works.

        Looking forward to installing it along side KDE3 so I can maintain a working desktop.
