Re: DVD playback fails even with all codecs etc installed
If anyone is still monitoring this thread and hasn't found a solution, I have....
In Kaffeine | Settings | xine Engine Parameters click on the media icon and look for the dvd.device setting. Mine was set to /dvd/dvd, which was wrong as my dvd drive was showing as cdrom1 in both Dolphin & Konqueror, so simply change the setting to (in my case) /dvd/cdrom1 and hey-presto it worked.
I've been struggling to get commercial DVD's to play and been through endless searches, but finding this one gave the one clue needed. Hope this helps.
