    MPlayer

    I cannot watch a movie in full screen with MPlayer. It plays well when i open the movie file, but if i try to see it in full screen the movie runs in slow motion. I tried different video output devices for MPlayer but none worked.

    I like the vlc player -- you might give it a try. If you get the same result with vlc, then we'll have to look into your graphics hardware and driver.

      tainted,, i and my friend had the same problem. So u could solve it by::

      enabling restricted graphics drivers(if available ).
      kmenu>system settings>advanced>restricted drivers
      when u enable it for the first time make sure u put ur cd in the cd drive(becoz restricted drivers are available in cd ).When u enable it downloads the required drivers from the cd.

      make sure ur swap is double the size of ram
      this is not a rule. but it yields good performance.
      i told u eevn my friend had same problem as that of urs.He made swap double the size of ram. Now every thing works fine. all the best.

            info ::

            all the intel chipsets are not completely intel manufactured.

            there are chipsets(ex:d101ggc,d102ggc) known as third party chipsets.For third party chipsets we must install restricted graphic drivers.
