    Different file systems during installation.

    we see many file systems(ext3,ext2,xfs etc) during installation. which is the best file system??

    There isn't a universal answer to that one. If you're a guy with a laptop, probably it's ext3. Desktops can choose ext3, reiserfs, or xfs. Servers tend toward reiserfs and xfs. I have a big desktop rig with 5 hard drives, and am running xfs except for a certain non-*buntu distro that does not offer that installation option, so that one is on reiserfs.
